Technical Architectural Designer

We are seeking a creative, motivated Technical Architectural Designer to join our 20-person design team to plan upcoming projects including two 150,000 SF commercial buildings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to all aspects of building design and construction with one of the region’s most well respected and financially stable real estate firms.

Responsibilities:

Commercial building design development, construction document drafting and review, rendering, field measuring, occasional estimating, and project coordination.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture
  • 5 to 15 years of practical commercial architectural design experience

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in AutoCAD, Revit, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Sketch Up, Powerpoint, and Photoshop experience a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to generate cost-effective design solutions.
  • Positive, “can-do” attitude, and strong written and graphic communication skills.
  • Applicants should be local area professionals with proven expertise, a desire and aptitude to learn and adapt on the job, and work ethics to match.

About the Design Department:

Our team of designers, architects, and engineers produces a large volume of diverse projects, including ground-up buildings, tenant fit-up, and speculative property development plans.  From concept to construction, our team takes pride in being involved in all phases of each project.  https://www.cummings.com/about/design-dept.html

In addition to architecture and space planning, we integrate graphics, sustainability, site engineering, structural, and MEP disciplines. Our team also provides feasibility studies, cost estimates, and marketing support to our in-house Leasing, Operations, and Construction departments.

Our current major projects include large-scale site development, multi-story commercial buildings, and assisted-living residences. Renovation and fit-up projects include exterior, interior, and energy retrofit renovations to existing buildings, as well as significant office, medical, and laboratory fit-ups.

Our experienced team of registered architects and engineers, variety of projects, and design/build approach make this is a great opportunity for a candidate in the NCARB Architectural Experience Program (AXP) working toward architectural licensure.
