50 Balch, LLC, a close affiliate of Cummings Properties, is the project's developer. Since its inception in 1970, Cummings Properties has strived to offer greater Boston businesses, homeowners, and renters quality residential and commercial space. The firm has strategically grown its portfolio over the years to offer first-class properties in desirable locations.

Including Cummings Center, the Firm has designed and developed more than 11 million square feet of property in 11 communities north and west of Boston, including the 150 unit Place Lane Condominiums in Woburn, the 440 unit New Horizons independent and assisted living community in Marlborough, New Horizons at Choate in Woburn, Cummings Center and Dunham Ridge business and innovation campuses in Beverly, and Elliott Landing luxury condominiums in Beverly.

Cummings Properties prides itself on its extensive in-house expertise. More than 350 full-time employees, drawn primarily from neighboring communities, represent the full spectrum of property development disciplines, including leasing, management, design, construction, and maintenance.

The Company acts as its own general contractor and employs more than 250 of its own full-time construction professionals. In addition, its architectural team is responsible for all of the firm's design work. All Profits to Nonprofits

Both 50 Balch Street and Elliott Landing Condominiums in Beverly were built by and are jointly managed by our firm’s highly experienced Cummings Properties, LLC of Woburn, which directly abuts the intersection of Routes I-93 and I-95.

Cummings Properties is a for-profit Massachusetts corporation which since before 2000 has donated 100 percent of its after-tax earnings to Cummings Foundation, Inc.Founded in 1986, Cummings Foundation in turn has donated a total of more than $600 million to Eastern Massachusetts not-for-profit entities.

Headquartered in Woburn, Cummings Properties maintains a 100-person full-time staff at Cummings Center here in Beverly including building mechanics of all sorts and other trades, as well as on-site management and administrative staff.

The combined organization owns more than 11 million square feet of modern, well-occupied real property. As of July 1, 2025, the firm’s 13-person Executive Committee of Cummings Properties has an average longevity with the firm of more than 24 years.

The Foundation has especially close relationships with Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, Cummings School of Nursing and Health Services at Endicott College, the James McKeown School of Education at Salem State University, and the Cummings School of Architecture at Roger Williams University. James McKeown was the former president of Cummings Properties who died in 1996 at age 41.
