Cummings Properties, LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer - HVAC to join our, multi-disciplinary in house Architectural/Engineering department in Woburn, MA. (See cummings.com/about/design-dept.html)
Under the guidance of the long-time Chief Design Officer, this individual will work with our design, sustainability, purchasing, and construction teams in a practical, fast track, design/build environment. Responsibilities include designing and preparing whole building and fit-up HVAC and piping systems, evaluating existing HVAC systems, estimating project costs, and coordinating and documenting projects. Typical projects will include new multi-story commercial buildings, fit-ups for a variety of clients including laboratory and food service, multi-unit residential and senior housing, and energy retrofits.
The successful applicant must have a thorough understanding of and experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of commercial HVAC/mechanical systems, have solid CAD, written, and verbal communications skills, and enjoy a hands-on approach to solving problems and building consensus with the project team and the client. Applicants should have a current Massachusetts Mechanical Engineering license. AutoCAD proficiency is preferred. Ability to travel locally to project sites and access active construction areas, including roofs, is required.
