Facilities Manager

Cummings Properties seeks a Facilities Manager to join our 20-person Design Department in Woburn, MA. The twenty team members represent architecture, interior design, construction management, graphic and web design, as well mechanical and structural engineering.

Applicant should have a broad familiarity with commercial construction practices with a background in construction or architecture. Primary responsibility is to review construction proposed by our clients within their leased premises to confirm its compliance with property owner standards; Projects are primarily interior renovations and/or related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing modifications.

This position requires accurate technical proficiency, attention to detail, clear written communication skills, and an upbeat professional attitude. Applicants should be local area professionals with proven expertise, a desire and aptitude to learn and adapt on the job, and work ethics to match. Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing client construction documents for compliance with property owner standards.
  • Explaining implications of proposed client construction to property management team.
  • Discussing construction alternatives with clients, contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Providing written approval memos or resubmittal requirements including summaries of non-compliant construction.
  • Coordinating and tracking client submission status with the Cummings management team.
  • Assisting Design Team with design/build fit-up and new construction projects.
  • Preparing related Word and Excel documents. AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience a plus.
