First
client moves into TradeCenter 128:
As the second phase of TradeCenter
128 nears completion, the first client is preparing to move in.
Well-known international travel company BCD
Travel is now packing up its Cambridge office and heading north
to Woburn, becoming the first tenant in this impressive new building.
While the Middlesex County Superior Court has already occupied one
major building of the complex, the larger building facing Route 128
is just now coming to life. Later this summer, the law office of Cohn
& Dussi will be moving to TradeCenter 128 from their Burlington
location, having already recognized the convenience of locating their
firm next to the new Courthouse. We are also hard at work preparing
ground floor space for Reading
Cooperative Bank, which plans to offer a full-service retail branch
and a convenient night depository and ATM. Finally, The Lobby Shop,
a convenience store offering snacks, sundries, lottery and more, has
become the latest amenity to lease space in this incredible new structure.
With its premium office space, prime location and planned first-class
amenities, TradeCenter 128 is an ideal alternative to more expensive
Cambridge and Boston office space. Please visit www.TradeCenter128.com
or contact your leasing/property manager at 781-935-8000 if you have
any questions or want to further inquire about this project.
Lets
fill those pantries!
Danversbank,
with 14 branch offices in eastern Massachusetts, is hosting a drive
from May 1 - May 25 to benefit food pantries across its branch network.
While any and all donations are welcome, the majority of pantries
need staple items such as cereal, juice boxes, peanut butter and jelly.
While thirteen different charitable organizations will benefit from
contributions, all donations brought to Danversbanks 400 West
Cummings Park branch will benefit Woburn Council of Social Concern.
For further information regarding this food drive, visit the banks
website at www.danversbank.com,
or call the Customer Support Center at 800-771-8200.
Smokey
Bear says . . .
With the advent of warmer and drier weather, it is essential to fully
extinguish and properly dispose of all cigarettes. Never toss a cigarette
into landscaped areas, as they are filled with dry and very flammable
bark mulch. Improperly disposed of cigarettes are a frequent source
of brush fires, which can quickly spread to buildings and vehicles,
causing needless damage. Thank you for your cooperation, and please
pass the word on to your colleagues and friends.
Curb
appeal:
Clients are reminded to help keep all outside and common areas clean
and neat. Pursuant to the "Outside Area" section of your
lease, storage of any materials outside your building, including pallets
and crates, is prohibited. Please store all company materials inside
your premises. Storing items outside is unsightly for visitors and
clients and increases the risk of fire and vandalism. The following
vendors may be able to assist with the removal and disposal of pallets
and crates: BNB Pallet and Box, 781-246-5019; E J Pallets, 603-378-0026;
Northside Carting, 978-745-0635. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
Time
for spring cleaning and organizing!
Are your files becoming insurmountable? If youre experiencing
difficulty making room for those extra boxes of inactive files or
merchandise, keep in mind that there are inexpensive storage spaces
available in many of our buildings. Whether youre looking to
store items for the full term of your lease, or just a portion of
it, we will be happy to find you a little extra space. Please call
your leasing/property manager to discuss available options, and begin
to clear your office of excess materials!

Little
things make a big difference --
On April 24, 2008, Nanobiosym
CEO Dr. Anita Goel testified before the United States Senate Subcommittee
on Science, Technology and Innovation. Chaired by Senator John Kerry
(D-Mass.), the subcommittee invited Dr. Goel to speak about how the
United States can revitalize its economy by harnessing the global
nanotechnology revolution. Dr. Goel provided testimony to help determine
whether the Committee should reauthorize the $1.5 billion National
Nanotchnology Initiative (NNI), which is expiring this year. Nanobiosym,
and its commercial partner Nanobiosym Diagnostics, are Cummings Properties
clients located at 200 Boston Ave in Medford. Nanobiosym Diagnostics

Alarm
registration:
Following a recent incident where an unregistered alarm rang in to
the Woburn Police Department, Detective Thomas Callahan has reminded
us that all Woburn residents and businesses with alarm systems are
required by city ordinance to register with the Woburn Police Department.
The Police Department has developed an online form (Alarm
Registration) to ease the registration process. Please complete
this form if your firm has not already registered, and remember to
update your information whenever there is a change in pertinent data
regarding your alarm system. Thank you for your cooperation.
Remember
to close those windows!
Now that the nice weather is here, we are all apt to open windows
for a breath of fresh air. If you do so, just remember to shut all
open windows at the end of the day to prevent unauthorized access,
pests, and the damaging effects of wind and rain to interior décor!
Expanded
recycling program:
Cummings Properties is pleased to announce our expanded paper recycling
program for West Cummings Park. Clients are encouraged to recycle
the following paper products: catalogs, cardboard, colored paper,
envelopes, file folders, glossy paper, junk mail, magazines, newspaper,
post it notes, shredded paper, and white paper. Recycling containers
are located by the elevators on most floors of the mid-rise West Cummings
Park buildings for all (clean) paper. Thank you for your participation
in this program!

Keeping tools
in tow!
ThingMagic,
Inc., with local offices at 4-G Henshaw Street, recently announced
a partnership with DeWalt and Ford Motor Company to equip 2009 Ford
F-150, F-Series Super Duty pickups and E-Series vans with an embedded
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) asset tracking system. As described
in www.rfid-world.com,
the innovative system is powered in part by ThingMagics Mercury
5e embedded module. Tied into an in-dash, Internet-enabled computer
system, and designed to help prevent theft, the system will allow consumers
such as electrical and construction contractors to keep better track
of the tools, equipment and materials loaded in their trucks. While
other automotive manufacturers have adopted RFID technology to track
parts through their production lines, Ford is the first to offer such
technology to consumers in its vehicles.

move furniture may do so, without charge, by leaving a $50 cash deposit
with our Shop. Call the Shop at 781-932-7021 to make arrangements. Thank

Upcoming
Webinar!
Client firm General
Communications, 114 Cummings Park, a 28-year-old company that
specializes in advanced telephony applications, equipment installations,
and servicing, invites Cummings clients to its first in a series of
Webinars scheduled for 2008 on March 4, at 9:30 AM. This initial program
will discuss how tele-working can fight the impact of the regions
decreasing employee pool, increase customer service hours, and help
reduce greenhouse emissions with one simple telephony application.
Tele-working allows employees to work from remote locations as though
they were present in the office. According to General Communications,
CareerBuilder.com reports that 33 percent of Massachusetts companies
already use tele-working! To register for this free Webinar, or to
view a list of upcoming topics, visit www.generalcom.com.
Alarm
registration:
All residents and businesses located in the city of Woburn with alarm
systems are required by city ordinance to register with the Woburn
Police Department. The Police Department has developed an online form
(Alarm
Registration) to ease the registration process. Thereafter, kindly
complete the online form, also, whenever there is a change in pertinent
data regarding your alarm system.
Key
issues:
In order to help ensure the return of keys signed out from the leasing
office, anyone signing out a key to any common area, including an
electrical closet, must temporarily leave a photo I.D., major credit
card or $20 cash at the leasing office. For security reasons, duplicate
keys to a clients space (if available) are typically only signed
out to those listed on the clients Emergency Contact form. Clients
should make arrangements with vendors and contractors to access their
suite. Any client who would like to change or update contact information
may download an Emergency Contact form at www.cummings.com/emergencyform.pdf.
Please print out the form, complete it in full (including signature
by an authorized company representative), and return it to the leasing
office. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Neighborly
gesture!
Over the next few weeks, the Hilton Boston/Woburn, located adjacent
to Cummings Park at 2 Forbes Road, will send Cummings Properties
Woburn-area clients their own 2008 VIP Card. This card will enable
clients to receive a 30 percent discount off the "Best Available
Rate" for an overnight guest room quoted for the date(s) of the
stay. This discount is particularly useful to companies that do not
procure enough rooms on an annual basis to qualify for a "Local
Negotiated Rate." When calling 781-932-0999 to reserve a room,
be sure to tell the Front Desk Agent/Reservation Department that you
are part of the VIP Program. (Alternatively, you may use Client ID
#2678074.) In addition to a room discount, the VIP Card entitles the
bearer to 30 percent off all food and beverage purchases, excluding
alcohol. Companies hosting a meeting at the Hilton Boston/Woburn may
also receive 30 percent of all banquet food and beverage charges,
excluding alcohol. If you have any questions regarding this program,
please call the hotel directly at 781-932-0999.

Green
and more green . . .
Mass High Tech recently reported that new client BioEnergy
International, LLC, 42 Cummings Park, has obtained $210 million
in debt funding, bonds and equity financing for its corn ethanol biorefinery
in Clearfield, PA. This project originated in 2006, when BioEnergy
reported $17.4 million in funding from the state of Pennsylvania and
signed a five-year purchase agreement with Lukoil Americas. Lukoil
will ultimately purchase the plants output and market the end
product of gasoline-ethanol blend throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic
regions. BioEnergy is a privately held biotechnology company with
an overall mission to produce reliable energy from renewable resources.
Short-term
parking reminder:
Spaces designated for short-term parking are located adjacent to many
building entrances. These spaces provide a significant benefit to
on-site businesses by offering many clients and visitors access to
the most convenient spaces each day, rather than allowing early arrivals
to occupy the spaces for the entire day. Spaces are monitored throughout
the day, and reminder stickers are placed on offending vehicles. Repeat
violators are subject to being towed. Employees and long-term visitors
are encouraged to park away from buildings, where there are typically
enough empty spaces for all. To be effective, the cooperation of all
is required.

Musical
accelerometers?
Yes, cutting-edge technologies are now in concert with guitars to
enable musicians to garner new sounds from their instruments. Mass
HighTech recently highlighted client firm Source Audio LLC, 120 Cummings
Park, and its new device, dubbed the Hot Hand®. Worn like a ring
on the players strumming hand, this wireless device allows the
player to control guitar effects just by using the motion of the ring.
According to the article, no longer is a phaser, a flanger, or a wah-wah
pedal required. Founded in 2005, Source Audio is guided by its president,
Roger Smith, CEO C. Hunter Boll, and vice president of engineering,
Jesse Remignanti. Chief scientist Robert Chidlaw, who reportedly worked
previously at California-based Kurzweil Music Systems, is the firms
sound guru, "responsible for making the companys products
suitable for professional musicians, as well as hobbyists."

furnishing acquisition:

Valley Traders, 106 Cummings Park, manufacturer of luxury top-of-the-bed
products and upholstered headboards, along with Belle Maison, a Newton,

Street Furniture, based in Whitefield, NH. Brown Street Furniture
has remained part of the northern NH landscape for more than 35 years,
and one of its original owners will stay on as a partner to manage
production. Kyle and Adam Tager, owners of Mystic Valley Traders,
are pleased to support local economies and keep quality manufacturing
capability right here in the United States.
