CUMMINGS PROPERTIES LEASES 20,000 S.F. TO LINDEN TECHNOLOGIES

WOBURN, MA - Linden Technologies Inc., a growing biotechnology company, leased nearly 20,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space at 35 Cabot Road, Woburn. The property is now reportedly 100% occupied, with Linden joining BioProcessors and Cambridge Research and Instrumentation (CRI).

Dr. Tai Nang-Hwang, president of privately funded Linden Technologies, indicated his firm develops and manufactures proprietary instruments used in genomics research and that his firm's rapid growth required a significant expansion earlier than he anticipated. After considering dozens of space options, Dr. Hwang was reportedly very pleased with his selection of the Woburn property. He sated, "We believe the relocation and expansion of our operations into 35 Cabot Road will provide greater productivity and creativity for our employees and represents our long-term commitment to the area."

Robert Yacobian, Cummings Properties leasing officer, who worked with Dr. Hwang to secure the property, noted, "It was particularly important for Dr. Hwang to locate a property that offered a corporate identity as well as proximity to Routes 93 and 128. Dr. Hwang considers the location a major asset in his search for additional employees."

Cummings Properties' ability to manage all aspects of the project with in-house resources was also said to be a key component of Linden's decision. "Dr. Hwang benefited significantly with reduced construction costs and an accelerated time frame because Cummings Properties completed all the design and construction with its employees," commented John Wiseman, Leasing Manger for Cummings Properties.

A privately-held real estate development and management company, Cummings Properties owns, leases and manages eight million square feet of first-class office, research, and industrial space in ten communities north of Boston. The Cabot Road property, however, is majority owned by long-term employees of Cummings Properties through an employee stock ownership program. More than 70 firms occupy nearly one million square feet of space related to biotechnology in Cummings Properties buildings.
