Genomics renews Woburn lease

U.S. Genomics renewed
its lease with landlord Cummings Properties LLC for nearly 40,000 square
feet of office and lab space in Woburn, Mass.
The biotech company
is headquartered at 12 Gill St., also known as the Gill Street Life Sciences
Cluster, where more than two dozen life sciences firms are located. The
office and lab lease was announced by Cummings Properties was signed several
weeks ago.
U.S. Genomics was
founded in 1997 and is developing single-molecule biology technologies
for diagnostics and biodefense applications. In September, U.S. Genomics
announced it received a $4.5 million equity investment from Becton, Dickinson
and Co. To date, U.S. Genomics has raised $61 million from investors and
has been awarded contracts totaling $39 million by the U.S. Department
of Homeland Securitys Advanced Research Project Agency.
