Lo Fat Know Fat to open
new restaurant in West Cummings Park
Woburn, MA - Lo
Fat Know Fat - Low Carb, High Protein Grille & Café leased
5,000 square feet in West Cummings Park, Woburn, to open its third restaurant.
Created by Tim Kurtz, an entrepreneur with food and fitness industry
experience, Lo Fat Know Fat is a healthy, fast-casual restaurant with
a retail area that sells healthy nutritional food products.
Kurtz and his partners,
wife Joliana, Michael Gervais, Chris Pappas and Tom Mackey, have capitalized
on a growing demand for food that both tastes great and is healthy for
the consumer. Healthy eating has become a lifestyle decision for millions
of Americans who are now searching for healthy food options that fit
into their busy lives. Lo Fat Know Fat has developed a diverse menu
that includes detailed nutritional information that allows guests to
choose from items that best fit with their dietary goals and needs.
The flagship Lo
Fat Know Fat store opened in Watertown in 1999 and the second location
opened in Shrewsbury in 2002. The Woburn store is slated to open later
this spring. Lo Fat Know Fat recently received a 2003 Innovation Award
from the Smaller Business Association of New England and has won several
"Best of Boston" awards.
Lo Fat Know Fat
is currently embarking on a major expansion plan. The management team
is negotiating an agreement with a nationally known figure in the franchising
business to launch the concept throughout the United States.
Harmon Lewis, a
principal at National Commercial Brokers, assisted Kurtz in selecting
300 West Cummings Park as the restaurant site. Set in the heart of the
thriving Cummings Park complex, 300 West Cummings Park is undergoing
a comprehensive renovation to accommodate Lo Fat Know Fat and is the
latest in a series of buildings being upgraded in one of the region's
largest office parks. The enhancements include a new façade,
new windows and expanded landscaping.
John Wiseman, leasing
vice president, and Rob Yacobian, leasing director, represented Cummings
Properties in the site selection and lease negotiations. "We worked
with Tim for nearly two years before 300 West Cummings Park was selected.
Lo Fat Know Fat has wonderful food and we are extremely excited about
its opening." said Yacobian.
