AgION cuts a deal with animal grooming products firm

AgION Technologies Inc. reports it has entered into a deal with Fla.-based Jarden Consumer Solution, for use of its silver-based antimicrobial compound in Jarden's animal grooming products.

Jarden's CryogenX blades are made for clippers that are used by professional groomers, veterinarians, equine specialists, large animal groomers, and personal pet owners, according to Jarden officials. The blades have been treated with Wakefield-based AgION's antimicrobial compound.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

Jarden Consumer Solution is a division of Jarden Corp., a provider of niche consumer home products, based in Rye, N.Y. Founded in 1997, privately held AgION Technologies has received funding from BASF Venture Capital, H.B. Fuller Ventures, SAM Private Equity, Motorola Ventures, and Paladin Capital Group.
