Woburn, MA - Agiltron,
Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative optical components
and systems, recently signed a lease for more than 10,600 square feet
at 12 Cabot Road. The new facility, directly across the street from Agiltron's
existing building, is owned by Cummings Foundation, Inc. and managed by
Cummings Properties, LLC.
According to company
officials, Agiltron is a market leader in fiber optic switches, variable
optical attenuators, high power optical components, optical polarization
and time controls, and is developing advanced thermal imaging and sensing
products. With a state-of-the-art photonic design and manufacturing facility,
Agiltron is volume producing the industry's most price-competitive/highest
performance photonic components for a wide range of industries that include
data communications, telecommunications, aerospace, instrumentation, and
research and development. The company is also commercializing technologies
that combat pollution and enable green industry.
When asked about the
decision to lease with Cummings Properties, Jack Salerno, Agiltron's president,
explained, "Real estate firms are always touting the benefits of
their location, but in this case, it really was the best solution for
us. This space is extremely convenient for our expanding corporate headquarters.
In addition, our familiarity with the leasing group as well as many years
of quality customer service it provided us made this an easy decision."
Agiltron previously
leased with the Woburn-based developer in different locations for a number
of years before it purchased its own building at 15 Cabot Road. The newly
leased space was needed to accommodate the company's growth and brings
its total operations to more than 25,000 square feet.
Cummings Properties'
Leasing Director Derek Cook commented, "We are pleased to welcome
Agiltron back. It's rewarding to hear clients tell us what a great job
we're doing, but when they have an opportunity to come back to us and
they do, that's proof that our facilities, rates and customer service
really do meet clients' needs."
Cook pointed out that
12 Cabot Road is strategically located minutes away from I-93, I-95/Route
128 and the Anderson MBTA station with Logan Express service. There are
also dozens of retail services, restaurants and hotels within walking
distance including Target, Sports Authority, Bertucci's, On the Border
Mexican Grill, Panera Bread, Hampton Inn and Courtyard by Marriott.
Agiltron represented
itself while Cook represented Cummings Properties in the lease negotiation.
Building owner Cummings
Foundation is a private operating foundation established in 1986. The
Foundation owns high profile properties in nine communities around Greater
Boston and also operates two large independent and assisted living facilities,
New Horizons at Choate and New Horizons at Marlborough, which collectively
serve more than 500 senior residents.
